DX-5 "Missiler"
The DX-5 “Missiler” is a ship split into two parts: one for harrying the enemy with smaller attacks and vented fumes while the other launches powerful Seeker Missiles from far away.
The DX-5 is one of two “Missiler” class enemy ships in the game, not to be confused with the DX-3 “Missiler” of Zone 2.
Strategy
Attacks
The DX-5 only has one action, below, which it executes every turn.
Image | Details |
---|---|
Attack 2 from left missile bay, add Fumes to discard from cockpit, attack 1 from central missile bay, launch Seeker Missiles from right missile bay |
Evasion
The DX-5 will consistently move to re-center its attacking cannons on your ship, keeping its weak, concussable Seeker Missile bay as far away as possible.
Tips and Tricks
If you have the mobility for it, hitting the weak, concussable missile bay on the right to cancel the Seeker Missile launches is always the safest bet.
The DX-5 has no way of scaling. Since it only deals a maximum of 5 damage each turn, it is also feasible to simply block all of the incoming damage every turn at this point in the loop.

The messed up ship in that glowing... asteroid... thing?

It's gotta have some kind of exotic tech. And it's gonna be mine.

Smiff
It's called the Cobalt?
Dizzy
Huh? Yeah. Have you been taking sensor readings of it? They'd be really helpful for me!
Smiff
Oh, I don't know. Maybe? When I stole this ship, it didn't come with the manual.

Oh look, here comes the science nerd. Gonna give me a science fact?

Yeah! The Cobalt's emission spectrum is mostly gamma rays, which -

I was being facetious!

Hey... the gamma rays you mentioned last time. Is that... safe?
Dizzy
Huh? Oh, absolutely not.
Dizzy
Lingering at this range around the Cobalt is very bad for your health.
Smiff
Oh...
Smiff
Then we better get this fight over with quick.

If you say so.

Those are absolutely irradiating you, my man.

Maybe fix the rest of your ship up before tricking out your engines?

Gotta respect an LED glow-up.
