GRS-49 "Hopper" Scout
The GRS-49 "Hopper" Scout, or Hopper, is a tiny, evasive ship that makes heavy use of the Autododge buff in conjunction with Seeker Missiles and the Engine Stall debuff to slowly chip down enemy ships while staying clear of damage itself.
Strategy
Attacks
The Hopper has several attacks with less of a set pattern than many other enemies. The Hopper will always open the battle with the first action below, and then randomly work in the other actions it has access to. The Autododge buff can be either left or right, with a slight preference toward right.
Image | Details |
---|---|
Attack 3 from left wing, buff (Autododge (Left) 1) from missile bay, attack 1 (applies Engine Stall if it hits) from right wing | |
Attack 1 from left wing, buff (Autododge (Right) 1) from missile bay, attack 3 from right wing | |
Attack 3 from left wing, launch Seeker Missile from missile bay, attack 3 from right wing |
Evasion
The Hopper will generally move towards the player each turn, trusting its Autododge to get it out of danger.
Tips and Tricks
As with its cousin, the GN-11 "Gnat" Scout, taking advantage of the Hopper’s Autododge by using weak or low energy cost attacks to use up the buff while simultaneously forcing the small ship into a position that causes it to miss its other attacks is a good strategy.
