Enemies

Enemies refer to any hostile encounter in Cobalt Core. Enemies are always found when selecting Common Enemy, Elite, and Boss map nodes, and can occasionally occur as the result of a choice during an event. Enemies vary by zone, as shown below.

Zone 1: Lazuli Nebula

Common Enemies

Name Details
CCD-19 "Cicada" Drone¹ Medium-sized ship that powers up over time
LPD-77 "Monarch" Drone Hub Smaller ship that produces attack and shield drones to fight
GN-11 "Gnat" Scout Tiny, evasive ship that automatically dodges some attacks
The Tower Medium ship piloted by a wizard who casts spells that cause malfunctions
PPA-94 "Pupa" Interceptor Larger ship that fires off bundles of trash
STG-04 "Stag" Fighter Beefy, larger ship with weak missile bays but ample shielding capabilities
WSP-55 "Stinger" Drone Small ship that pesters the player with constant shots and missiles

Elites

Name Details
The Humble Approach A large bounty-hunting ship loaded with cannons, but with one glaring weak point
Fireball A small pirate ship piloted by a familiar face that turns up the heat with each shot
Needler A medium sized-ship that automatically fires back when attacked, intentional or not

Crystalline Entity Big crystal.

Event Enemies

Name Details
Fake Distress Signal An optional battle with the Fireball Elite, who is intent on stealing your artifacts
Artifact Smuggling A potential battle with the STG-04 "Stag" Fighter after it finds contraband on your ship
Missile Mayhem An optional battle with Soggin’s Very Cool Ship as you try to keep the poor frog's own missiles from destroying him
Sports! An optional battle with Sasha in which you attempt to play a game with a sports orb

Zone 2: Sapphire Cluster

Common Enemies

Name Details
CCD-62 "Cicada" Drone Mk2¹ Medium-sized ship that powers up over time, now improved from your last encounter with it.
The Cannoneer Larger ship that fires of a constant barrage of attacks and missiles.
Spike Jr Attacks with weak but hard-to-dodge attacks that give you Oxygen Leaks, while hitting you with Seeker Missiles.
The Chariot Ship with an honorable pilot that might be convinced to leave after a fair duel.
DX-3 "Missiler" Medium-sized missile hub that launches multiple missiles each turn.
BTL-86 "Goliath" Defender Defensive ship that uses Reflexive Armor to tank hits and deploys Space Mines, with a gradually escalating multi-attack.
GLX Bruiser Bounty-hunting ship that attempts to stall out your engine while pelting you with attacks and missiles.

Crystalline Offshoot Scattered remnants of an earlier fight, returned to battle with quickly scaling damage
Rogue Starnacle An aggressive ship-sized creature hides amongst the asteroid detritus it produces

Aquatic Lifeform Terrifying lifeform that fires fear-inducing bolts from the nothingness between its wings.
Ion Ranger Bounty hunter ready to fry its targets' engines before laying a beatdown with twin cannons.
GRS-49 "Hopper" Scout Tiny, evasive ship with plenty of tricks up its sleeve to slip out of the way damage.
SCR-02 "Scarab" Interceptor Defensive ship designed to dismantle enemy comms before taking the upper hand in the confusion that ensues.
00-A Mining Drill Industrial ship for drilling through asteroid fields or opposing cockpits.
DX-5 "Missiler" Patchwork ship that distracts with one half while firing deadly seeker missiles with the other.
