Description
Costs 2 energy. When played:
- 1. Attack for 2 with Pierce.
- 2. Attack for 2 with Pierce.
- 3. Gain 1 Heat.
Upgrades
Sear A
Costs 2 energy. When played:
- 1. Attack for 2 with Pierce.
- 2. Attack for 2 with Pierce.
(Do not gain Heat.)
Sear B
Costs 2 energy. When played:
- 1. Attack for 2 with Pierce and Stun.
- 2. Attack for 2 with Pierce and Stun.
- 3. Gain 2 Heat.
Strategy
Sear is a bread-and-butter Drake attack. Compared to Multi Blast, it gains Piercing but also adds 1 Heat.
Its A upgrade is equivalent to Multi Blast's B upgrade, and saves 1 Heat. There are better upgrades for heat management but if that's what you need, it works.
Its B upgrade adds a Stun effect to both blasts at the cost of adding 1 more Heat. Note that this doesn't compare favorably to EMP Slug A unless you have Overdrive/Powerdrive, as the stun on the second shot isn't meaningful, and this gives 1 more Heat. If you really need sources of Stun (despite already having one in EMP Slug), it is an option.
