Strategy

Bay Overload is mostly an Extra Battery that is slightly more potent but with a downside - basically, any Drones or Missiles should not be played while the downside is active. It's at its best on builds that really aren't using Isaac, or are primarily focused on asteroid/mine generation. It has the same issues that Extra Battery does too - you need to be able to line it up with cards to spend the Energy on, so Riggs cards and Max's Math.Max or Sticky Note are important to put this to good use.

Its A upgrade adds a card draw, which while not super impressive does help address this card's need to line up with ways to spend the energy.

Its B upgrade instead reduces its output by 1 and reduces the Missile Malfunction by 1. Note that now, Extra Battery, unupgraded, is a more-or-less strictly better card. Why did you draft this card, exactly, if you wanted this upgrade? (An answer could be that Extra Battery just wasn't available, but the point is that if the downside matters enough for you to take this upgrade, you probably shouldn't have drafted this card in the first place.)

While this card's Missile Malfunction is mostly a downside, it does have a couple of interesting interactions:

1. If you're playing with Books and find Catch, you can intentionally launch your drones in the wrong direction with this card in an easier fight, and then catch them, making the resulting Release card have them facing in the correct direction, potentially giving you a boost in a harder fight. (Alternately, you can play Release cards that have the drone facing the wrong way with this debuff active, causing them to face in the correct direction.)
2. If you have Dizzy's Payback active and a backwards-facing Jupiter Drone facing your ship, you can attack, have the Jupiter Drone attack you, which triggers another attack, which triggers another attack...dealing infinite damage! To yourself! This is a fun way to instantly die. But what if you had another cannon attacking the enemy, and your Jupiter Drone was facing an Armored part of your ship...?
