Hey! I have this extra scaffold lying around. I think it would look great right in the middle of your ship!

Strategy

Choosing whether or not to take the scaffold is an interesting trade-off. Having an empty part is great since you can let attacks pass right through it, but do keep in mind that it will make your ship ever so slightly wider. On one hand, the scaffold makes it easier to evade singular attacks or attacks that are spaced out. However, if you have to avoid a dense barrage of attacks, the increased width of your ship makes it slightly harder to move your whole ship out of the way. It also spaces out your ship parts a bit, which might feel awkward on the Ares or Gemini.

The Tiderunner benefits greatly from the additional scaffolding, turning its 2-wide gap into a 3-wide gap. This makes certain attack patterns effortless to avoid, particularly those of the Buried(?) Relic and The Cobalt.

Notes

  • The scaffold will always be placed in the same spot on every ship. This is the exact center for ships with an even number of pieces (Ares, Jupiter, Tiderunner) and just right of center for those with an odd number of pieces (Artemis, Gemini).
