Strategy
There aren't many ways to get 1 Energy per turn, and this is one of them. A powerful effect, especially with card draw and high-cost cards.
The Heat per turn is a significant problem, however — costing you 1 hull every 3 turns, and making stalling a losing proposition most of the time. You can buy some time with Exothermic Release, Firewall B, Ventilator, Heat Distiller, Next Gen Insulation, and others. Lifegain effects like Battle Repair, Repair Kit, Hot Compress, and Nanofiber Hull can also help with your margin for error even if you do sometimes overheat.
Ultimately, the runs that use this well are generally those that can use the extra Energy to finish fights quickly before the Heat becomes too much of a problem.
