Shield acts as an extension of the player's hull.

It serves to protect the hull from incoming damage. Though, ignored by AttackPiercing.png Piercing attacks, Heat.pngCorrode.png status effects, and EnvHazard.png cards.

Shield

Shield.png Shield is indicated by a blue segmented bar to the right of the hull. Enemy ships telegraph intent of raising their shields.

Player shield is retained between turns, but not between combats. However, ShieldMemory.pngShield Memory allows for this to happen.

Max Shield

Shield is capped by MaxShield.png Max Shield. Any shield gained when shield is at max is wasted.

Temp Shield

TempShield.png Temp Shield is indicated by a pink segmented bar appended to the Shield. It acts similarly to shields, but as the name implies, it is temporary and last only a single turn.

It works independently from Shields and is therefore not capped by Max Shield.

TimeStop.png Time Stop allows remaining Temp Shields to carry over next turn.
